Hi, I’m Jess Currier — and I’m so glad you’re here.

I'm a full-time painter based in Los Angeles, where I live and work in one of the world’s largest artist-in-residence communities. I’ve been dedicated to practicing oil painting for over a decade, and I developed my expressive style through years of still life, floral, landscape, and portrait paintings! You might know me for my signature figures layered with translucent floral patterns that explore themes of longing, resilience, and beauty as an act of brave rebellion.

But you might not know that I also have an MFA in studio art. I've studied painting in Florence, Italy. My work is exhibited across the U.S. and Europe and collected around the world. And I teach hundreds of students the foundations of painting through my local workshops! But at my core, I’m still just someone who fell in love with oils and never looked back.

I’m creating this course to be the kind of resource I wish I’d had at the beginning of my journey: accessible, encouraging, and rooted in experience. Whether you’re brand new to painting or just want to reignite your creative spark, I’m here to help you build your skills as an artist and find joy in the process!
